Electric demister, also known as wet electrostatic demister, is a key equipment in the gas purification section and has been applied in the industrial field for nearly 100 years. It is widely used in the sulfuric acid and titanium dioxide industries to remove SO3 acid mist and in the metallurgical coking industry to recover coking coal in China.

Electric demisters are generally vertical structures, mainly composed of corona electrode (cathode) devices, precipitation electrode (anode) devices, upper and lower chambers, and power supply systems. Its working principle is to convert AC electricity into DC electricity through an electrostatic control device and a DC high-voltage generation device, and send it to the defogging device. A strong electric field is formed between the corona wire (cathode) and the acid mist capture plate (anode), which ionizes air molecules and instantly generates a large number of electrons and positive and negative ions. These electrons and ions move in a directional manner under the action of the electric field force, forming the medium for capturing acid mist. At the same time, the acid mist particles are charged, and these charged acid mist particles undergo directional motion under the action of electric field force, reaching the anode plate that captures the acid mist. Afterwards, the charged particles release electrons on the electrode plate, causing the acid mist to accumulate and flow into the acid storage tank of the acid mist remover under the action of gravity, thus achieving the purpose of purifying the acid mist.

At present, the electric demisters used by domestic sulfuric acid manufacturers can be divided into tubular, plate, and honeycomb types according to the shape of the precipitation electrode; According to the material of the precipitation electrode, it can be divided into three types: lead electrostatic defogger, plastic electrostatic defogger, and fiberglass electrostatic defogger. Due to the fact that plastic electric defoggers rely on liquid film conductivity, the effective sedimentation area changes significantly, and the operating voltage and current are lower, resulting in inferior performance compared to the latter two; In recent years, lead anode tube sheets have been continuously replaced by conductive fiberglass, which has the advantages of light weight, low cost, and outstanding comprehensive performance. There are also many materials for the cathode corona wire of the defogger, such as nickel chromium steel wire wrapped with lead, titanium palladium alloy wire, titanium wire, etc.

When the electric defogger works, it needs to generate an uneven electric field between the anode and cathode, so both poles need to be conductive. Generally, electrostatic defoggers made of non-metallic materials such as fiberglass or polyvinyl chloride use the method of conducting electricity through liquid film; Conductive fiberglass reinforced plastic made by mixing and pressing fiberglass and graphite can also be used, or the method of adding a layer of carbon fiber pad inside the fiberglass anode can be used to solve the conductivity problem.

Our company produces 10-2000 fiberglass electric defoggers to meet the needs of sulfuric acid production, flue gas desulfurization and defogging, dust removal, and whitening.

Our company produces boiling furnaces with a capacity of 20000 to 500000 tons/year for sulfuric acid production from pyrite.
